Joint Educational Undergraduate BEng (Honours) Programme

The four year undergraduate BEng (Honours) programme in Electronics and Electrical Engineering is jointly offered by the University of Glasgow (UoG) and the University of Electronic Science & Technology of China (UESTC) with the authorization of the Ministry of Education in October 2012. UoG and UESTC are committed to offer the most respected and highest quality joint educational programme at undergraduate level in western China.

The Joint Programme aims to combine the best features of the British and Chinese university systems. Matriculated students under this programme will be jointly enrolled and registered by UESTC and UoG and supervised by the higher education quality monitoring system of both China and the UK. It is taught equally by staff from both universities and all assessment and formal teaching will be conducted in English. Qualified graduates will be awarded a bachelor’s degree respectively by UoG and UESTC.

In order to better facilitate the successful development of the joint programme, the UoG-UESTC Joint School was founded in January 5th 2013 and launched in May of the same year. The mission of the Joint School is to deliver undergraduate degree programmes in China at a standard commensurate with the highest quality education available internationally, providing students with the scholarship and skills that will equip them for lifetime careers as leaders in industry and academia.

Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow (UoG) is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. Today, UoG is a broad-based, research intensive institution with a global reach, ranked as the 51st best university in the world by QS World University Rankings 2013-2014. UoG is a founder of Universitas 21, an international grouping of universities dedicated to setting worldwide standards for higher education. UoG is also a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group of leading UK research universities. Distinguished UoG figures include Adam Smith, the “father of economics”, Lord Kelvin, who created the Kelvin Scale, James Watt, the “father of the Industrial Revolution”, and John Logie Baird, a pioneer of television. In addition, UoG has been associated with 7 Nobel Prize laureates during recent decades.

Joint Program of Doctor of Management UESTC-ISCTE

DBA program is a joint program by UESTC and ISCTE (Portugal), the faculties are from both sides. DBA degree is granted by ISCTE. The business school of ISCTE, a membership of EFMD, is authenticated by AMBAs. The special tracks of UESTC-ISCTE DBA program are in Business Strategy, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Operation Management. Professor Antonio Gomes Mota, the Dean of ISCTE, had a wonderful speech in the opening ceremony. Both sides hope to have deep cooperation in the future.

ISCTE is authorized by the European Union and ranked the top three universities in Portugal. The business school of ISCTE enjoys a great reputation in Portugal. According to the DBA curriculum arrangement of ISCET, Our students will be tutored by excellent professors from both ISCTE and UESTC and the final doctorate degree will be conferred by ISCTE after the accomplishment of three-year study.

Joint International MBA Program UESTC- Webster University

The joint International MBA Program offered by the University of Electronic Science & Technology of China (UESTC) and Webster University, USA, is a Chinese-American cooperative education program approved by the Ministry of Education of China. UESTC is one of the key universities in China. The School of Management and Economics has a remarkable, well-organized and highly-internationalized faculty. The Business School of Webster has been accredited by ACBSP (Association of Collegiate Business School & Program). Offering MBA program outside the USA is however a significant feature of Webster University. Webster University has its own campuses in U.K., Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Thailand and China. The joint International MBA program of these two universities will strive to advance the business administration education in China.

French Alliance of Chengdu

The French Alliance of Chengdu is a member of a network of more than 1100 institutions in 130 countries around the world for 120 years. In China, there are 15 French Alliances that have all opened between 1989 and 2010.

The French Alliance of Chengdu was born of a partnership between the Foundation and UESTC French Alliance, based in Paris, in January 2003 and whose agreement was renewed in October 2008.

In addition to the French courses and preparation for certification, the French Alliance of Chengdu is specialized in the promotion of cultural events: concerts, lectures, plays ... Everyone is invited for free! This is a unique place to meet French or Francophone.

The French Alliance of Chengdu is also working to develop academic cooperation between the partner institution, the UESTC, and higher education institutions in France and francophone countries.

Finally, the French Alliance of Chengdu, as a formal institution, enjoys partnerships with the Ministry of French Foreign and European Affairs, the Embassy of France in China, the Consulate General of France in Chengdu and Campus France.

UESTC has already established links with several French institutions of higher education: EFREI, Telecom Bretagne, Rennes and ESC ESIGELEC. The French Alliance of Chengdu strives for an expanded network of partners UESTC: in January 2009, the Chinese Director and the Director of the French Alliance French Chengdu made a trip together to France seven institutions meet potential partners.
