Students need to change masks at the gate, and non-contact disinfectants are available there.Tents were set up in the queuing area; portable electric fans and drinking water were provided; non-contact infrared temperature measurement space is equipped with air-conditioner to ensure the accuracy of the measurement. The white electric carts are waiting at the gate to give students a ride from the gates to their dorms.

Students may go through the West Gate, No.2 West Gate, and the South Gate to access Qingshuihe campus (as the notices inform of), and through the West Gate and Xinyuan Gate to access Shahe campus. Neither campus is open to vehicles driven by parents.

The university has prepared health packages for all returning students, which include: 5 disposable medical masks, 1 mercury thermometer, a copy of the“Psychological Q&A for Returning Students’ Pandemic Prevention”, a pack of disinfectant wipes, and a copy of Guide to University Returning. Health packages and hand sanitizer for each dorm will be distributed in advance.

The "home" that had been empty for more than 100 days is finally going to welcome its returning "masters". The warm-hearted dormitory managers cleaned thoroughly the public areas of the dormitories, placed carefully the disinfectants and put up welcome posters.

Upon arrival, students are supposed to line up with one-meter distance for entering the dormitory buildings/ communities which provide separate entrances and exits. Beforehand, students'  identity and body temperature are to be checked, registration is to be done, and luggage is to be disinfected in sanitized areas.

It's been 4 months since you left campus, do you miss the flavour of UESTC? All the canteen staff have made preparations elaborately: thorough cleaning, defensive detection, and exquisite cooking, all are ready for your return.

All canteens carry out the scheme of dining shifts and one-way flows. Students should wear masks when entering canteens and get their body temperature checked cooperatively. Automatic induction hand sanitizer machines or hand sanitizers are available at the entrance of canteens. Hands are to be washed before dining. One person, one table and one direction. Takeouts, self-owned utensils and separate dining are recommended.

Property and maintenance staff disinfect the teaching buildings everyday, and finish testing classroom multimedia equipment. Elevators are also disinfected regularly on a daily basis, while disposable paper handkerchief is ready for button pressing.

Students should wear masks in public places such as classrooms, faculty offices, and laboratories according to the relevant regulations, and keep the 1-meter distance.

The Octagonal Library is not open at present, but full preparation is made for students' return. Service desks, service directions and waiting areas are set up in the libraries of both campuses. Sterilization equipment for books was prepared in advance. Books returned to the libraries after the outbreak of the pandemic were disinfected for readers to borrow and read safely. The libraries of both campuses have also carried out a comprehensive check of books on the shelves so as to ensure the circulation lengths. The online digital documentation resource service is available 24/7.

Currently, the libraries of both campuses provide mainly digital resources and online services, with paper resources borrowed and returned through Wechat, and other services that must be done offline shall be done by appointment.

The school buses and electric carts are running busily. The drivers always put students' and university staffs' health and security as their top priority. They have checked facilities and equipment as well as carried out overall cleaning and disinfection, and are ready for students' return!

On the basis of the original prevention and control work, the school hospital has taken various measures including the revision and implementation of work specifications and emergency plans, deployment of medical personnel, training of relevant staff, participation in emergency drill, distribution of pandemic prevention package to students and construction of pandemic prevention barrier to escort students to “back home” smoothly.
